KBR Expands FM, Logistics Support for US, UK Armies
Print Article Contributed by BSM Staff

WASHINGTON -- KBR, Inc., a provider of facilities management and logistical support to the military, has been awarded two task order modifications totaling $116 million to provide logistics support services to the U.S. Army in Europe and the Arabian Peninsula.

The services will include forward planning, maintenance support, base operating support services, and assisting the U.S. Army in transporting arms, ammunition and explosives. This is the second option year on the task order, which was originally awarded in August 2014.

The Army Contracting Command awarded these task order modifications under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) IV contract.

Most recently, KBR’s Government Service business, KBRwyle, received a $70 million task order modification to continue assisting the Department of Defense in meeting the U.S. European Command's requirements.

KBRwyle also received a $46 million task order modification to continue providing logistics support to the U.S. military in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The company will provide facilities management, laundry services, waste management, maintenance support, fire protection, airfield management, and transportation operations. This is the second option year on the task order, which was originally awarded in April 2015.

The company has provided a broad range of base life support and logistics to U.S. and allied forces through multiple LOGCAP contracts for more than twenty years. During LOGCAP III, KBRwyle conducted the largest government services contract in United States history in support of military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and eight supporting country locations.

"KBRwyle has a long history of providing world-class logistical support to our military," said Byron Bright, KBRwyle President. "We will continue to serve the U.S. Army through these new contracts to meet its dynamic challenges in Europe and the Middle East."

Revenue associated with these LOGCAP IV task order modifications will be booked into the backlog of unfilled orders for KBR's Government Services business segment.

KBR also has been awarded a Facilities Management Services Operations (FMSO) contract by the UK Ministry of Defense (MOD). KBR will now be the sole supplier delivering FM services to the UK MOD on deployed operations.

Under the terms of the contract KBR will deliver a vast range of hard and soft FM services across the UK MOD's operational estate in the Middle East to include:

• Operate and maintain existing infrastructure assets and optimize the use of assets across the operational estates;

• Provide cost effective delivery for real life support services including catering, cleaning, laundry, waste management and pest control services;

• Provide services including grounds maintenance, reprographics, office machinery and government furnished equipment servicing and maintenance.

The wide range of services delivered under the contract will see KBR teams working alongside the MOD in locations such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE and will require KBR to deliver flexibility, responsiveness and agility to meet any changes in the operational estate.
