IICRC Makes Final Call to Register for Technical Conference

LAS VEGAS – With its 2018 Technical Conference around the corner, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is reminding attendees to register for the event to be held Sept. 27-28 at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

With a focus on the niche field of trauma and crime scene cleanup, attendee can earn up to 10 CEC credits (up to three on Thursday and up to seven on Friday). They can sign up at https://iicrc.site-ym.com/page/2018IICRCCSC.

The 2018 conference will feature numerous speakers, including:
•     David Hodge; “Past, Present & Future of the S540” – David has more than 20 years of experience in the cleaning and restoration industry, and was a firefighter and EMT-Advanced for over nine years. During his session, he will highlight the key motivators behind the creation of the S540 standard, the standard’s benefits, how it will be used in the future and more. 

•     Richard Driscoll; “Planning for Success in the TCSC Industry” – Richard is an IICRC Certified Master Restorer, Master Textile Cleaner and an approved instructor in the areas of WRT and AMRT. He authored and instructs the Restoration Sciences Academy’s MR-110 and MR-210 Microbial Remediation classes. Richard also teaches the MR-211 trauma scene clean-up class, which is recognized in the ANSI/IICRC S540.

•     Meg Brunner; “How Heroes Heal, Handling Post Critical Incident Stress” – Meg served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Air Force for nine years and currently works for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. During her panel discussion, Meg will discuss her training in dealing with critical incidences and coping strategies for the aftermath of these events.

•     Randy Pierce; “Coping with the Aftermath: Preparing Technicians for Success in TCSC” – Randy is an IICRC Certified Master Textile Cleaner, Master Water Restorer, Master Fire Restorer and owner and operator of a successful textile cleaning and restoration company for 25 years. Randy will review the psychological effects of traumatic incidences, how workers can protect themselves from the scenes they witness and more. 

•     Thomas Licker; “Health & Safety of TCSC” – ABRA Board President and Certified Bio-Recovery Master, Thomas Licker has over 20 years of professional experience that includes managing the investigation and remediation of Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties. At the conference, Tom will highlight risks and health hazards, steps for protecting workers and available health and safety protection equipment.
