AMSTERDAM, NY -- Hill & Markes Inc., a distributor of janitorial, industrial and office products, recently donated $4,500 and more than three pallets of food to Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties in New York.
The donations are a result of a successful “stuff the truck” food drive hosted last weekend outside the Hannaford Supermarket in Amsterdam, New York.
Company employees teamed with community members, vendors of Hill & Markes, and other local companies to collect nonperishable food items to be distributed to those in need by Catholic Charities.
“COVID-19 has exacerbated food insecurity in our country and this region,” said Jason Packer, Hill & Markes CEO. “My family, our employees, and our company are grateful to be able to help feed struggling individuals and families in Montgomery and Fulton counties at this time.
“We are so incredibly thankful for Catholic Charities for the work they do in feeding the hungry and supporting this initiative during this pandemic and beyond.”
Hill & Markes is an Amsterdam, New York-based distributor of janitorial, industrial packaging, food service, farm, and office products to various market segments around the country. The family-owned business was founded more than 100 years ago.
