ASHBURN, VA -- Cigna Healthcare has selected the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) as a recipient of their 2023 Healthy Workforce Designation for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and vitality of its employees through a workplace well-being program. "We are honored to be recognized with the Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation, as we are committed to the health and well-being of our team," said Wanda Shiflett, Human Resources Manager for IBTS. "We are thankful for the collaboration we have received from The Cigna Group." IBTS has worked closely with Cigna Healthcare to develop a series of wellness activities over the past year through a combination of physical challenges and educational content to engage employees across our company. Challenges included a range of initiatives including healthy eating, and exercise. Employees were encouraged and rewarded with a gift card, to make well-visits for healthcare and practice self-care with a massage. Vitality is defined as the capacity to pursue life with health, strength, and energy. Research conducted as a part of the Evernorth Vitality Index confirms that those with higher vitality experience better mental and physical health along with higher levels of job satisfaction and performance.
