WASHINGTON -- ISSA has named the recipients of its third annual ISSA Advocate of the Year Awards, presented at the association’s 2024 Clean Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C., last week.
Award recipients were selected by ISSA with input from its Government Affairs Advisory Committee.

The recipients of this year’s awards are Keith Schneringer, BradyPLUS senior director of marketing – jan-san and sustainability, and Jean-Marie Pfeifer, owner of Shore to Shore Cleaning.

She said, “What we do as an industry may be the most important function in any given workspace. 2020 showed the public just how essential the cleaning industry is to everyone’s daily lives. I am beyond grateful to be recognized by ISSA for the small part I was able to play in gaining more recognition for the industry and Cleaning Week in New York State.”

ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft, called Pfeifer “a passionate and effective advocate for the industry since attending the Clean Advocacy Summit in 2023.” “Her passionate advocacy led to New York State proclaiming Cleaning Week in 2023 for the first time and again with even more support in 2024.”

Schneringer was selected as the manufacturing recipient for being such an “engaged and helpful supporter of ISSA’s legislative and regulatory affairs efforts,” said Nothdurft. “He was one of the first people I connected with when I started with ISSA, and his feedback, assistance, and encouragement over the years has been critical in helping the association be more impactful.”

Schneringer said, “It has been impactful, informative, and fun to be a part of the ISSA Government Affairs Committee for the last several years. To see the progress that the cleaning industry has made in building relationships with government legislators and agencies to help advocate for our fellow members has been both impressive and gratifying —and the leadership of the ISSA staff has been a critical organizing component in building these bridges.

“Participation in these industry advocacy efforts has helped to keep our company informed and prepared for new laws and regulations and helped us to be able to skate to where the puck is headed. I am honored and humbled to be singled out for recognition this year.”
