ST. LOUIS -- 4M Building Solutions, a provider of commercial cleaning and janitorial services, has acquired Brokate Janitorial, the largest locally owned janitorial service provider in Southwest Missouri. The acquisition strengthens 4M’s long-standing presence in the state of Missouri, where it was founded in St. Louis in 1978 and holds a high-density market share in the St. Louis and Kansas City metropolitan areas. The Brokate acquisition adds nearly four million square feet of service space and more than 175 team members to its operations. “Brokate is a perfect fit for us, as it expands our customer reach while seamlessly aligning with our company culture," said Tim Murch, CBSE, CEO of 4M. “This acquisition reinforces our long-term vision to expand our service capabilities in key markets, and it’s a great pleasure for me and our team to grow in our founding and headquarters state.” Brokate Janitorial began in 1995 when Margie Brokate started providing after-hours janitorial services from her garage and home office in Branson. In 2005, her sons joined full-time, bringing a vision for growth. As the company expanded, it relocated its headquarters to Springfield, Mo., in 2012. It grew from a small team to over 175 employees, serving the Springfield metro area as well as Branson, Joplin, and Monett, Missouri. Brokate built its reputation by delivering expert commercial cleaning across industries, including corporate offices, government buildings, schools, medical centers, manufacturing plants, retail stores, call centers, sports and entertainment venues, and high-security environments. In addition to 24/7 janitorial services and day porters, their specialized care includes hard floor cleaning, carpet care, window cleaning, disinfecting, power washing, emergency water extraction, parking lot sweeping, and facility maintenance services. 4M will continue to serve Southwest Missouri customers from the existing Brokate office, located at 1900 E. Chestnut Expressway in Springfield. “Brokate Janitorial has been a family-driven company since my mother founded it and we take great pride in the reputation we’ve built within our community,” said Jeremy Brokate, CEO. “The trust we’ve earned from our employees, customers, and partners has been the foundation of our success. “As we moved forward with 4M, we aimed for a smooth transition that honored that legacy. 4M’s leadership shared our vision, added countless benefits and opportunities for our Team Members, and ensured a seamless process for our team and clients. We’re confident that under 4M, our commitment to excellence will continue to thrive." The entire Brokate management team, including Jeremy, his brother Cheyne Brokate, COO, and Austin Propst, CFO, will join 4M and continue to serve their clients and team members. The Brokate acquisition is number 35 for 4M since its founding in 1978. Nine of those have occurred since 4M received a significant investment in January 2023 from O2 Investment Partners, a Midwestern-based private investment firm.
