ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) has awarded two J. Bradley Kennedy Scholarships this year in recognition of the advancement of their property or facilities management careers.
Angela Brooks, a property management specialist with Paycom Software, Inc., and Bilal Khan, Group Director, Facilities and Admin Services, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited received the award.
Established in 2011, BOMI created the scholarship to honor Mr. J. Bradley (Brad) Kennedy's focus on excellence and his lifelong commitment to education.
"Each year, an independent committee made up of the BOMI Board of Trustees Competency Committee reviews and ranks all applications based on a weighted scale across several categories," said Andrew Taylor, BOMI's Chairman of the Board. "We are pleased to be able to offer support for continued personal and professional growth with the CRE industry."
Brooks has five years of industry experience and has established deep roots in the field, both locally in Oklahoma City and nationally through BOMA International. She currently serves as the President of BOMA Oklahoma City, is a mentee in the Daniel J. Chancey Leadership Academy, and recently joined the Membership Committee at BOMA International.
"This scholarship provides vital support in my pursuit of the RPA designation and represents an investment in a professional who is deeply committed to the growth, ethics, and future of the property management industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my education through BOMI," says Brooks.
Khan has over 21 years of leadership experience in network planning, implementation, and operations, as well as contracts, facilities management, and client success. He has streamlined operations across 40 million square feet at over 2,000 facilities.
"My objective is to continue advancing in the facilities and property management profession at a global level by aligning with international best practices, sustainability standards, and strategic operational excellence. Obtaining the FMA would not only validate my practical experience but also give me the formal foundation to take on more impactful leadership roles internationally, particularly in the UAE or other global markets where credentials from BOMI are highly respected," said Khan.
Each scholarship recipient receives free tuition for any courses required to earn their selected BOMI designation.
