MINNEAPOLIS -- As players hang up their cleats and ballparks go quiet for the winter, the offseason brings opportunity – not rest – for stadium owners and facility managers. With teams already revamping rosters and strategies for the 2026 season, the Sightline Commercial Solutions team is working with those planning renovations and upgrades to transform both the spatial and experiential aspects of the stadiums that host America’s favorite pastime. “From drink rails and ADA platforms that enhance comfort and accessibility to modular seating systems that convert underused space into premium fan zones, forward-thinking facilities are using this downtime to reimagine what game day can look like,” said Jon Chase, Chief Engineering Officer for the premier staging and railing solutions provider. In an era where immersive fan experiences continue to dominate the sports arena, venue owners are investing in ways to make live sporting events more engaging to drive attendance, boost ticket sales and deliver memorable moments that keep patrons coming back. The following are seven examples of how baseball venues from the NCAA to MiLB and MLB have hit home runs with fans via a range of transformative upgrades: Dudy Noble Field – Flex Suite Debut The project included six modular sections featuring epoxied flooring, cable and drink rails, branded closure panels and folding SpecSeat chairs for versatility and premium comfort. Delivered in under six weeks to be game-ready for the series against rival Ole Miss, the project showcased the speed and flexibility that define Sightline’s approach and established a new benchmark for reconfigurable fan areas. “Flex Suite represents a major shift in how venues think about premium spaces,” said Chase. “Fans want the comfort of home paired with the energy of being in the stadium, and this system makes that possible through a turnkey design that’s fast to install and easy to reconfigure. Seeing it come to life at Dudy Noble Field – and knowing it can adapt to different events and audience needs – demonstrates how it gives venues the day-to-day versatility they’ve been missing.” Nationals Park – Upper Concourse Riser System Citi Field – Party City Deck and Citi Pavilion Sightline then returned to Citi Field to create a custom-built VIP area that blends luxury with flexibility. Known as “Citi Pavilion,” this premium seating section situated in right center field just beyond the outfield wall features 18 portable platforms with custom railing and aluminum enclosures, complemented by four modular stair units that provide easy access. Outfitted with drink rail anchored into the concrete and glass rail along the front, the semi-permanent system offers a reconfigurable layout that can comfortably accommodate anywhere from 16-72 spectators. Petco Park – VIP Platform Infill “Spaces like those at Citi Field and Petco Park create a more vibrant, connected atmosphere during events by giving fans room to gather and engage with the action together,” explained Chase. “Instead of being confined to traditional rows high above the field, spectators can enjoy the game from areas designed with comfort, visibility and a shared experience in mind.” Target Field – Premium Suites and Architectural Enhancements Another standout feature that was added is the 35-foot-wide left field seating platform that holds 168 seats. This area doubles as a lift gate to allow vehicles to access the playing field and blends seamlessly with the park’s aesthetics.
