MINNEAPOLIS -- As players hang up their cleats and ballparks go quiet for the winter, the offseason brings opportunity – not rest – for stadium owners and facility managers.

With teams already revamping rosters and strategies for the 2026 season, the Sightline Commercial Solutions team is working with those planning renovations and upgrades to transform both the spatial and experiential aspects of the stadiums that host America’s favorite pastime.

“From drink rails and ADA platforms that enhance comfort and accessibility to modular seating systems that convert underused space into premium fan zones, forward-thinking facilities are using this downtime to reimagine what game day can look like,” said Jon Chase, Chief Engineering Officer for the premier staging and railing solutions provider.

In an era where immersive fan experiences continue to dominate the sports arena, venue owners are investing in ways to make live sporting events more engaging to drive attendance, boost ticket sales and deliver memorable moments that keep patrons coming back.

The following are seven examples of how baseball venues from the NCAA to MiLB and MLB have hit home runs with fans via a range of transformative upgrades:

Dudy Noble Field – Flex Suite Debut
Earlier this year, Sightline debuted its first-ever Flex Suite installation at Mississippi State’s Dudy Noble Field.

The project included six modular sections featuring epoxied flooring, cable and drink rails, branded closure panels and folding SpecSeat chairs for versatility and premium comfort. Delivered in under six weeks to be game-ready for the series against rival Ole Miss, the project showcased the speed and flexibility that define Sightline’s approach and established a new benchmark for reconfigurable fan areas.

“Flex Suite represents a major shift in how venues think about premium spaces,” said Chase. “Fans want the comfort of home paired with the energy of being in the stadium, and this system makes that possible through a turnkey design that’s fast to install and easy to reconfigure. Seeing it come to life at Dudy Noble Field – and knowing it can adapt to different events and audience needs – demonstrates how it gives venues the day-to-day versatility they’ve been missing.”

Nationals Park – Upper Concourse Riser System
Sightline helped to enhance the fan experience at Nationals Park by delivering multi-tier, removable aluminum riser systems along the Upper Concourse level. Designed to expand seating capacity while maintaining clear, unobstructed views, the system allows the venue to easily reconfigure sections for different events and crowd sizes. The lightweight aluminum construction ensures durability without adding unnecessary load, and its modular design supports quick setup and removal.

Citi Field – Party City Deck and Citi Pavilion
Just beyond the left field wall at New York’s Citi Field is the “Party City Deck,” a vibrant fan zone designed to give Mets supporters an up-close view of the action while creating a relaxed, social atmosphere. The system is built on SC97 aluminum platforms and includes ADA-accessible sections with continuous handrail and a quadruple slip-resistant surface for safety, as well as integrated drink ledges that offer a convenient place to enjoy concessions.

Sightline then returned to Citi Field to create a custom-built VIP area that blends luxury with flexibility. Known as “Citi Pavilion,” this premium seating section situated in right center field just beyond the outfield wall features 18 portable platforms with custom railing and aluminum enclosures, complemented by four modular stair units that provide easy access. Outfitted with drink rail anchored into the concrete and glass rail along the front, the semi-permanent system offers a reconfigurable layout that can comfortably accommodate anywhere from 16-72 spectators.

Petco Park – VIP Platform Infill
To give San Diego Padres fans something extra to cheer about, a VIP platform infill section was installed at Petco Park to bring them closer to the action in elevated style. By modifying the rise and run of the stadium, the new section introduces larger tiers that provide a more spacious, premium viewing environment. Custom anodized aluminum guardrails with acrylic infill panels support integrated TV screens and deliver a clean, modern aesthetic that enhances the park’s signature coastal atmosphere.

“Spaces like those at Citi Field and Petco Park create a more vibrant, connected atmosphere during events by giving fans room to gather and engage with the action together,” explained Chase. “Instead of being confined to traditional rows high above the field, spectators can enjoy the game from areas designed with comfort, visibility and a shared experience in mind.”

Target Field – Premium Suites and Architectural Enhancements
A sweeping, two-level center field renovation elevated both form and function at the Minnesota Twins’ Target Field. The upper level was transformed into “Minnie and Paul’s Pub,” while the mezzanine level became “The Catch,” an exclusive suite area offering unmatched views and hospitality. “To bring these spaces to life, we provided a range of custom architectural elements, including glass and mesh railing systems, aluminum perforated walls, stainless steel mesh partitions and integrated drink rails,” Chase said.

Another standout feature that was added is the 35-foot-wide left field seating platform that holds 168 seats. This area doubles as a lift gate to allow vehicles to access the playing field and blends seamlessly with the park’s aesthetics.

Southwest University Park – Concourse Drink Rail
For Southwest University Park, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas – the Triple-A affiliate of the Padres – Sightline fabricated and installed more than 10,000 linear feet of custom architectural railing, including a network of aluminum drink rails placed along interior and exterior concourses to give fans convenient surfaces for food, beverages and belongings. These additions encourage movement and social interaction and allow spectators to enjoy the game from virtually anywhere in the stadium.

Busch Stadium – ADA Accessibility
Sightline has also had the privilege of working with teams to ensure everyone has access to the best seats in the house. At Busch Stadium in St. Louis, the company helped the Cardinals elevate inclusivity by designing and installing ADA-compliant platforms and ramps to ensure all fans can enjoy the game comfortably. Featuring slip-resistant surfaces and custom aluminum handrails, these enhancements reinforce the company’s commitment to creating spaces that are dynamic and universally accessible.
