SOLON, OHIO -- Tarkett, a maker of sustainable flooring solutions, has launched a new carpet collection ideal for education and workplace settings.

“Rooted in restraint and nuance, the In the Making collection captures the conscious contemplation where creativity is formed,” said Omoleye Simmons, vice president of design for Tarkett North America. “Each style is an exploration of subtle movement, softened geometry and textural depth—bringing rhythm, balance and visual interest without overwhelming the space.”

The collection consists of three bold patterns—Traced, Preparation and Gestural—in 12 colorways, all available in ethos carpet tile, Flex-Aire cushion carpet tile and Powerbond hybrid carpet.

The Traced style features a layered, cross-directional linear pattern that creates a textural grid with subtle movement. Inspired by the marks and imprints left behind in the creative process, it brings a purposeful sense of rhythm to inspiring interiors.

The Preparation style features an abstract, deconstructed linear pattern that creates a fluid sense of movement and layered texture underfoot. Its hand-painted-like aesthetic delivers a dynamic, contemporary foundation designed to evoke process and progression, bringing a subtle narrative of creativity into the built space.

The Gestural style translates expressive, freeform mark-making into a modular pattern, with scattered rectangles and rhombus-like shapes creating an open, less structured composition. Reflecting the instantaneous spontaneity of the creative process, it brings an energetic, art-driven layer to interior environments.

All three styles are available in a hybrid carpet and two carpet tile options, giving designers the freedom to meet the specific needs of their space.

For demanding environments, Powerbond hybrid carpet offers unmatched durability, top-in-class moisture management and unrivaled ease of maintenance. Its chemically welded seams create a wall-to-wall impermeable moisture barrier, helping to maintain a healthier environment by avoiding conditions that are favorable to microbial growth. As evidence of

Tarkett’s leadership in innovation, Powerbond RS was the world’s first Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly soft surface flooring. In testing, it has been scientifically proven to reduce exposure to asthma and allergy triggers—a simple dry vacuuming removes 95% of allergens—helping to foster good indoor air quality.

Ethos carpet tile is a sustainable solution for high-traffic spaces where ease of installation is a must. It is made with up to 78% recycled content. The ethos backing contributes to the circular economy by being fully recycled back into itself through Tarkett’s ReStart take-back and recycling program.

For preparation ease, ethos features an Omnicoat Technology barrier that prevents moisture, pH, or previous adhesives from affecting the floor installation—even over challenging substrates.

For spaces that demand durability with superior underfoot comfort, Flex-Aire cushion carpet tile is a standout option. It is ideal for environments where occupant well-being and seamless design transitions are paramount, such as open office spaces or interior spaces where people stand or walk for long periods. Its construction also helps ensure that liquids and soil stay at the surface, providing easier cleaning and reduced maintenance costs.

The entire collection is part of Tarkett’s ReStart take-back and recycling program.
With a history of more than 140 years, Tarkett has close to 12,000 employees, 25 R&D centers, 11 recycling centers and 33 production sites.
