FAA Names JLL to Manage Hughes Aerospace Center

CHICAGO -- The Federal Aviation Administration has chosen JLL to provide facilities management services for the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace, a 1.5-million-square-foot, 200-building portfolio in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

Located at Atlantic City Airport, the William J. Hughes Technical Center serves as the FAA’s premier research, development and testing facility for aviation systems and technologies.

The 5,800-acre campus is the agency’s primary hub for advancing aviation safety, security and efficiency through research, development, testing and evaluation of air traffic control systems, aircraft certification, airport technology and security systems.

Approximately 5,500 personnel, including FAA employees, contractors and staff work in the campus’ 40 major laboratory facilities, extensive outdoor test ranges, sophisticated indoor simulation capabilities and runway facilities that allow full-scale aircraft operations for realistic testing scenarios.

As part of the contract, JLL is responsible for execution of facility operations and strategic sourcing across a broad spectrum of facility services, including high voltage electrical systems; plumbing; HVAC; central utility plant operations; general and electrical maintenance; pest control services; water treatment plant operations; material handling services; minor repair and renovation project support; portable and static generator services; BAS programming and repair services; elevator maintenance and repair; and waste removal.

The JLL team leading account facilities management services includes Contract Manager Robert Mitchell, Alternate Contract Manager Glenn Mettrock, Maintenance Supervisor Philip Naylor and Contract Accountant Jennifer Morgan.
