Is Your Smart Building Also Intelligent?

LONDON -- Is your smart building actually intelligent? Mymesh, a provider of adaptive wireless control and data infrastructure, is challenging the industry to look beyond the number of connected devices and ask a more important question: is the building actually becoming more intelligent?

At the Smart Buildings Show 2026, to be held at ExCeL London Oct. 14 and 15, Mymesh will explore how connected infrastructure can turn building data into useful information that supports better decisions around energy, occupancy, maintenance and building performance.

Modern buildings can generate significant amounts of information through lighting, sensors, HVAC, emergency systems and other connected services. The challenge for building owners, facilities managers and property teams is making that information useful.

At the Smart Buildings Show, Mymesh will demonstrate how it provides a secure, scalable and robust wireless infrastructure capable of connecting, managing and monitoring lighting, sensors and other building services.

Rather than creating separate networks for individual applications, Mymesh provides a single scalable wireless infrastructure that can connect lighting, sensors, switches and other compatible devices.

The information generated can also support building safety and compliance. Automated monitoring and testing can provide clearer records of system performance, identify faults and create an evidence trail for facilities teams, while keeping human responsibility and professional judgement at the center of decision-making.

Ashley will expand on these themes as part of the Smart Buildings Show conference program. His session, “Lighting and Climate Convergence: A New Paradigm for Smart Buildings,” will take place in the Controls & Networks Theatre on Thursday Oct. 15 from 1 to 1.35 p.m.

The session will explore how occupancy-led intelligence can enable lighting and climate control to respond to the way spaces are actually being used, supporting energy efficiency, occupant comfort and better operational insight while reducing complexity across design, installation and commissioning.
