WASHINGTON -- BOMA International will integrate its BOMA 360 designation into BOMA BEST, an internationally recognized Building Certification Program for energy, efficiency, operations, and management standards, beginning in January 2027.
The integration will leverage the strengths of BOMA 360 into BOMA BEST, giving owners and property professionals a clearer framework for improving and demonstrating building performance.
“Bringing BOMA 360 into BOMA BEST creates a stronger, more unified approach to building performance,” said Randal Froebelius, P.Eng., Chair, BOMA BEST LLC.
Kjersten Jaeb, chair of BOMA International, said, “BOMA 360 has played an important role in recognizing excellence in building management and operations, and we are committed to carrying that value forward. By integrating BOMA 360 into BOMA BEST, we can provide the market with one clear standard while continuing to support the professionals and organizations that have invested in both programs.”
Active BOMA 360 designations will remain valid through their existing terms. Participants will not be required to recertify early or take immediate action because of this action.
BOMA International will work with all BOMA 360 building owners and managers to assist with transitioning to the BOMA BEST certification platform.
BOMA has been gathering input from program participants, local associations, industry leaders and other stakeholders, which is helping BOMA anticipate questions, address audience-specific needs, and refine the communications, guidance, and support provided during the integration.
“With continued input from stakeholders, we are building a transition that protects the value of both programs while giving owners and property professionals a clear, practical path forward,” said Froebelius.
Founded in 1907, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International is a federation of U.S. local associations and global affiliates. BOMA International’s mission is to advance a vibrant commercial real estate industry through advocacy, influence and knowledge.
