‘Commitment at Your Service,’ Modular Gives

MARLBOROUGH, MA -- Modular Concepts, a commercial cleaning and facility maintenance company, has built giving into its business by giving back to every nonprofit it serves, and to other causes, customers or not.

"Our slogan is commitment at your service, and that commitment does not stop at the door of the buildings we clean," said owner Luiz DaCosta. "We do not donate to win business. We donate to support the community where our employees live and raise their families."

This past summer, that commitment wore running shoes: Modular Concepts was a Path Partner sponsor of the Crossroads Continuum 5K and Family Fun Day in Marlborough. The nonprofit has supported families living with autism since 2002.

The giving is possible because the business works. Over 100 professionals clean offices, medical facilities, schools, warehouses, industrial sites, and nonprofits across all three states, expanding this year to Hartford, New Haven, Providence, and Cranston.

A second promise: no long-term contracts. Services include commercial cleaning, janitorial, office cleaning, hard-surface floor care, carpet cleaning, post-construction cleaning, licensed kitchen exhaust hood cleaning, pressure washing, and warehouse cleaning.

"We grow one commitment at a time," DaCosta said. "We earned the next building by taking care of the last one. That allows us to keep giving."

Modular Concepts’ promise has reached the following organizations: Wayside Youth & Family Support Network, Thrive Support & Advocacy, Novus Inc., Crossroads Continuum, Natick Service Council, Fresh Start Furniture Bank, Kits for Kids, Camp Jabberwocky, Veritas Christian Academy, CFS of Marlborough Dollars for Scholars, Community Foundation for MetroWest, MetroWest Free Medical Program, AMSA, Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest, UMass Memorial Health-Marlborough Hospital, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Shriners Children's, St. Jude, and more.
