DALLAS -- JMS Integrated Building Solutions, LLC, a Texas building automation systems integrator, has been acquired by the Harris Company, a national mechanical contractor. The formal agreement, guided by Generational Group, a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm for privately held businesses, closed on September 1, 2026. Headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, JMS Integrated Building Solutions, LLC has served the Dallas/Fort Worth and greater Texas market as a building automation systems integrator since 2007. The company built its reputation as a Distech Controls authorized system integrator, working with Tridium and the Niagara Framework to give building owners direct control over their facilities. JMS's technical capabilities include:
The acquisition adds JMS's open protocol integration expertise to Harris's building automation platform and expands Harris's regional presence into Texas. Jim Shadley, founder and CEO of JMS, will remain on as regional leader. “Joining Harris means our team gets to keep doing the work we’ve always done for our customers, with the extra support from a leading national organization,” said Shadley. “I’m excited about what this means for our business and for the communities we serve across Texas.” Bob Swanger, Executive Vice President of Service and Building Automation at Harris, said the acquisition reflects a deliberate approach to growth. “We didn’t select JMS to fill in a spot on a map,” said Swanger. “We hand-selected them for what they bring to the table: deep expertise in open integration and Distech Controls that expands what our Building Automation platform can do for owners and facility teams everywhere we work. Besides,” he added, “they’re also good people who do great work. It was a perfect fit.” Generational Group’s Executive Managing Director Michael Goss and his team, led by Managing Director, M&A, Julio Dominguez successfully closed the deal. Executive Managing Director and Group Leader, Randy Kamin and Senior M&A Advisor, Mike Moore established the initial relationship with JMS Integrated Building Solutions, LLC. Founded in 1948, the company has grown to more than 4,000 employees across 21 regional offices. The company continues to invest in its growing building automation platform while expanding specialized mechanical capabilities. For more, go to https://jms-ibs.com/ |
