MILWAUKEE -- Wade Kemnitz has joined Sellars Absorbent Materials as president and COO, filling a new role at Sellars as part of a planned succession as Julie Graverson, the company’s current COO, is retiring at the end of October.
“We’re very appreciative of Julie’s dedication, determination and many contributions to our success during her 10 years at Sellars,” said Tom Sellars, CEO. “She will be deeply missed,”
Kemnitz has extensive paper manufacturing management experience. Most recently, he was president and CEO of BiOrigin Specialty Products, a manufacturer of high-performance paper and tissue products, and a supplier to Sellars.
“Wade has in-depth industry knowledge and exceptional leadership skills managing complex systems. His knowledge of DRC (Double Re-Creped) technology, high-performance operational work systems and culture development will be a significant benefit to our company,” said Sellars.
Prior to leading BiOrigin, Kemnitz was in management positions with Clearwater Paper and Kimberly-Clark where he gained valuable experience with DRC technology. Sellars is one of only two companies that can make DRC products and the only manufacturer that produces high-quality DRC wipers from recycled paper and boxes.
"I am both excited and honored to join the Sellars’ team,” he said. “Working with a team that’s focused on growth through innovation with a commitment to fostering a positive company culture is highly compelling."
Kemnitz earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his master’s in business administration from Murray State University.
